Where's All The Snow At?!?!

Even though we're not in Minnesota it's a little unsettling to see no snow on the ground in the middle of December. This made me wonder: what have the past several winters been like, or at least, what have the past several Decembers looked like (in terms of snowfall) in Newark.

Looking at data from the
National Climatic Data Center's website I found that since 2000, for a recorded period of 29 years, Newark's average snowfall (in inches) is 29 for the month of December. So far no snow (only trace amounts, if any) has fallen for the month if December in Newark.

So where's all the snow!?!

If you're wishing for a "White Christmas" like me don't give up hope just yet. But until then check out this cool website about snowflakes and snow crystals, called
Snowflakes.com.
